The following is an Important Notice for Immigration Stakeholders from the Government of Canada

With the ongoing concerns of COVID-19, the Domestic Network (IRCC) has implemented new operating procedures in an effort to limit the spread of the virus, to both clients and employees. At present, the Domestic Network will be suspending the majority of client-facing services until further notice.

Landings are being suspended until April 13th, 2020. Extended hour services, currently offered Thursday evenings and Saturdays, will also be suspended until further notice.

All paper submissions for refugee claims will be suspended starting March 20th 2020 until further notice. IRCC will continue to accept claims for refugee protection initiated by sending an email and providing the information specified by the Department to:

IRCC remains available for critical processing of the following streams and will use alternate means for program delivery to minimize client interaction for the following categories:

  • TRP issuance for Victims of Trafficking in Persons (VTIPs) (paper-only applications),
  • Open work permit issuance for vulnerable workers (online applications only),
  • Issuance of H&C Temporary Resident Permits (TRPs) for victims of family violence,
  • Detained PRRA processing
