In Foreign Workers, Temporary Status - Work Permits, Work Permit

Earlier this week, Employment and Social Development Canada announced processing delays for LMIA applications. This is true for certain streams of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. See the table below for processing times.

Current average LMIA processing times

Application type Delay
Global Talent Stream 10 business days
Agricultural Stream 30 business days
Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program 15 business days
Permanent Residence Stream 40 business days
In-home Caregivers 25 business days
High-wage Stream 85 business days

To cut down on processing delays, make sure your applications are completed fully and that you respond to Service Canada requests for supporting documents in a timely manner.
